Description
The very lightweight polystyrene probe made from recycled Styrofoam offers sufficient space for several cameras, GPS trackers, and dataloggers with its volume of 3.3 liters. With a wall thickness of approx. 3 cm, the probe is easy to work with and optimally protects the installed technology against the extreme temperatures of up to -65 °C. The polystyrene probe is also very robust when landing and reliably protects the technology inside. The laterally attached “wings” minimise the rotation for even more stable recordings from the stratosphere.
With the help of the optionally available STRATOlab Experiment mount, experiments can be attached outside the polystyrene probe in a few simple steps, enabling research at extreme temperatures and minimal air pressure.
RECYCLING:
Styropor® can be up to 100% recycled. In addition, up to 40 % less CO2 is emitted during the manufacturing process and up to 70 % less water is used than with comparable packaging materials. The used moulded parts can be disposed of at recycling centres or through commercial disposal. The used parts retain their high degree of purity and can therefore be recycled without any problems.
L.M. –
Basically it is a simple polystyrene box but that is what I love about a strato project. Simple ideas, stunning results. The box had enough space for our 3 Gopros and a GPS tracker.
